The Playstation Portable was introduced by Sony at E
3 2003, and unveiled on May 11, 2004, as a form of competition against Nintendo's GameBoy. This is the first competition against the GameBoy that seems to have been pulled off successfully.
Sony's new portable is reportedly their fastest selling console, with 17 million units being sold worldwide as of May 8, 2006. With its ability to play movies as well as games, the PSP truly holds good competition for the Nintendo DS.
